Gift aid is a scheme enabling registered charities to reclaim tax on a donation made by a UK taxpayer, effectively increasing the amount of the donation.

To qualify as a gift aider you need to be a UK tax payer, some private pensions are valid for tax and therefore means you qualify to be a gift aider also.

Before you sign up for gift aid please be aware that If you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all of your donations in that tax year it is your responsibility to pay any difference.

As a registered charity under the retail gift aid scheme we act as an agent and sell the goods on the donor’s behalf, once the sale is complete we can then claim an added 25% from the HMRC on top of the sales made by your donated items.

If you would like to sign up for our gift aid scheme please feel free to ask next time you are donating in our shop or ring and speak to the shop manager about signing up.
